How to Achieve The “Glass Skin” look

How to Achieve The “Glass Skin” look

If you have looked at your social media platforms recently, you have probably heard of people talking about achieving the “glass skin” look or wanting to look like a glazed donut, as Hailey Bieber says. Let’s dive into what products are going to give you a smooth, clear, and intensely hydrated complexion.

We were all introduced to the Korean beauty term “glass skin” more than half a decade ago. Most recently, we have seen this term rise back up thanks to social platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Now, what does glass skin mean, and how do we achieve it?

To achieve the glass skin look, you want to use multiple lightweight layers of hydrating products, so the skin looks dewy and plump. That said, there's no single, universally agreed-upon way to achieve glass skin, but with the help of social media, estheticians, and all skincare lovers, we have narrowed it down to a few key steps.

1.   Start off with double cleansing:

First, wash your face with a gentle oil cleanser that won’t clog pores or strip your skin of its natural oils. Then go in with a gentle cleanser like high priority, which is great for all skin types.

2.   Exfoliate:

Exfoliating the skin helps remove excess dead skin cells and removes impurities. You can use high maintenance to exfoliate your skin, take a generous amount and apply to damp skin, massage it in, and watch your impurities and dull surface skin come off.

3.   Use a toner

The benefits of using a toner are to help reset the pH of the skin and allow the next steps in your routine to absorb better into the skin. Adding a toner to your skincare routine and using it regularly can significantly impact the appearance and tightness of your pores.

4.   Use a serum or facial oil.

A big staple in any glass skincare routine is incorporating either a serum or a hydrating facial oil like high expectations facial oil. Which is filled with potent antioxidants, balanced with adaptogens, soothe, hydrate, and replenish the skin.

5.   Layer on your favorite moisturizer

Use a moisturizer that gives you instant hydration, leaving your skin smooth and supple. Because we are applying so many products to our skin, we want to make sure that you choose one that is good for sensitive skin.

6.   Protect your skin from the sun, our favorite SPF!

Sunscreen is a non-negotiable step in any K-beauty routine (and ours). When picking out your SPF, it is good to look for one that is hydrating, protecting, and won't leave behind any residue.

And that is our finished steps to achieving your glass skin! You can also add in hydrating face masks that will reduce the appearance of pores without drying out your skin. Questions? DM us on Instagram and we would be happy to chat all things skincare.
